Cartrunk Entertainment’s Unpublished Games Festival (Unpub 2!) is an exciting event for Game Designers and Game Players!
Held in Dover, Delaware in early January each year, the Unpub brings together Designers with games that need playing and players who want to play games. It’s as simple as that. No stakes. No worries. You provide your games and we’ll provide some players and a place to play them.
This year the Unpub is coming your way on Saturday January 14th 2012 at FOP Lodge #3 (1584 Kitts Hummock RD; Dover,DE 19901.) Doors will open at 10:00am and the last meeple will be back in the box at 10:00pm.
The event is a low cost to participants on both sides of the aisle, this year we are asking for a suggested 5 dollar donation to cover the venue costs. We’ll also be making food available for purchase throughout the day (so you don’t have to leave your game to find some grub.)
Players are welcome and needed. We are asking that you register to allow us a chance to get a ballpark figure on attendees, but walk-ins are welcome! Bring your friends and open minds to try new and exciting things! Maybe you’ll find a new favorite game!
Designers are asked to register ahead if possible, but won’t be turned away at the door!
The following games are eligible to be exhibited at this event:
*Any game that has not yet found a publisher or that has been self published through personal means or sites like The Game Crafter.
*Any game that has found a publisher, but has not yet hit the store shelves.
Once designers are registered we’ll be contact to get the following information on your game/games:
- Designer(s) Name(s).
- Game Name.
- Amount of time needed to instruct and run 1 demo game (to the nearest half hour.)
- Brief Description of game (including type of game)
- Number of players
- Space required to play the game. (optimal size of table.)
This information should be provided by January 13, 2012. We will still accept registration at the door, but this information is required at that time. You can wait for us to contact you or you can email this information to john@cartrunk.net.
We will accept submissions from designers who cannot attend. Games submitted in this manner will be placed for blind play testing. Please send us a non-print and play copy of the game and we’ll get you some table space. We make no promises, experience shows that games with designer’s present get more attention, but we’ll do what we can. Contact john@cartrunk.net to set this up!
Everyone is welcome for a good time with great games that may be coming to a store near you! 4 of the games presented at the Unpub in January 2011 have found a publisher and will be hitting your store shelves! Come be part of the process that brings great games to the shelves and tables near you!
