VivaJava First things first. Have you pledged your support to VivaJava?

In related news…

I had an idea at work yesterday. I’m hosting a small get together during the Super Bowl. I’ve invited people who don’t give a damn about sports (or at least don’t care about the Super Bowl.) We’re going to play real games, games that don’t cost people thousands of dollars a ticket to watch in a cold stadium.

I was delighted to learn that VivaJava:The Coffee Game’s designer TC Petty III is going to join us that weekend and for the event itself! This means I’m going to get to play VivaJava:The Coffee Game again. This is something I haven’t had an opportunity to do since August at the WBC where I gained the nickname “Rainbow Killer.”

Here’s the thought: live stream a game of VivaJava during the Super Bowl.  I think we have enough know how and technology to make this happen, what I need to do is make sure people are interested in seeing this. Would you watch such a thing? Would it help you make the decision to pledge the game? Would it be fun and interesting?

At this point I’m expecting about 6 to 8 people to the event, both numbers make for great games of VivaJava. This feels like it can happen. Do you think it should?

Tell me in the comments if you think this is an awesome idea. Let me know if you’d watch a room full of game designers and players give the next great board game a full play.

Is this effective counter-programming to the Super Bowl?

Thanks!
